I have heard talk about overtraining. I work out 5 xs a week? What are the signs? (Cynthia, NY).
Here are the symptoms when your workouts are out of balance.
- Decreased performance level
- Chronic fatigue
- Loss of appetite
- Loss of body weight, particularly lean body mass
- A weakened immune system – increased tendency toward illness
- Increased potential for injury – overworked muscles and joints
- Decreased motivation
The subject of my story is balance – lifting days with cardio days, heavy workouts with medium to light intensity workouts. Flexibility programs on off days. Include rest days to enjoy life and let the body heal!
