Question:
My schedule has become a little more hectic and it is chipping into my workout time. Can I have an effective workout in about 30 minutes? (Sandi from West Babylon)
Answer:
Half an hour is a significant block of time, especially if you don’t talk or get distracted. If half an hour is all the time you have, then maximize it. Here are some tips:
- Cut the time resting between sets.
- Cut out one set of duplicate exercises. You don’t need to do three sets of each; instead make it two stronger sets.
- Do super sets which means working opposing muscle groups like, biceps and triceps, quads and hamstrings—no resting time needed between sets.
- Most importantly, don’t cut out a body part. Do an exercise for each body part, as you must always maintain balance when you strength train - just as in life.
Remember: It’s not how long you work out, but what you do with the time you have.
